"Extremely rude and un helpful"

I innovertantly let my tablets run out.

On approaching the receptionist with my apologies.I was asked WHY I had done this and toldthat I shouldn’t have done it.Next year you we are clamping down hard on people like you.So you won’t get away with it then.I am thinking.Is this a Doctors I am at or the crown court.!

I said I have a husband with dementia which occupies my mind twenty four hours a day.

I came away in tears and very upset at the way I was spoken to.

Why should I be put in that situation?

We are sorry to hear that you had an upsetting experience and apologise for this. As you have provided feedback anonymously it is difficult for us to identify any specific staff you would have dealt with on this occasion but should you wish to provide us with a date and approximate time that the incident took place we will look into this further. We have not specifically instructed our staff to clamp down on repeat/routine prescription requests being made on an urgent/same day basis but do encourage them to make patients aware of the various ways in which routine medication can be ordered. This includes asking your usual pharmacy to request on your behalf when the medication is due. Other means include using the online Patient Access service or emailing our dedicated email address - see the prescriptions section of our website. We accept that sometimes patients do genuinely forget to put in their order before running out of meds but at the same time need to maintain a routine turnaround for repeat medications for all our patients in order to manage demand and try to make issuing of routine meds on an urgent basis in exceptional circumstances. We are truly sorry if in this instance you found our service was lacking in compassion.
