My daughter had a cold and a really bad cough so of course I made a doctors appointment. She was only 12 days old so I was really concerned. Much to my frustration I was turned away, told just to buy olbas oil!
Later that same day she had her hearing test in the Victoria hospital luckily! The midwife agreed something wasn’t right and sent me to phone nhs 24 to make sure someone looked over my daughter. Her name was Clare. She had black curly hair, I’ll never forget her now. Had I not been told from her to do something I may have just went home and took my doctors advice!
My daughter was kept in hospital that night, diagnosed with bronchitis and sent home the next morning. But the next again morning I had to rush her back in as she took a turn for the worst. After a painful few days doctors found she had bacterial meningitis.
I can’t thank that lovely midwife enough for making sure I done something as today could have been a different story. My daughter is still in hospital but doing well. I almost never even attended her hearing appointment. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. ❤️
