After reading some of the views of the walk-in centre at St Mary's I had considered looking up a witch doctor in Yellow Pages. However the experience (this morning, Boxing Day) proved the opposite.
I'd had hand surgery at Southampton General on the 18th and despite a change of dressing there on Christmas Eve, together with an 'all clear' regrading infection, Christmas Day things went downhill so today I went to St Mary's.
Although there were around 30 odd people I was seen for log-in within 20/25 minutes.
I was then called through for treatment some 15 minutes after that.
Wound cleaning, redressing and the charge nurse's diagnosis of serious infection was professional and assertively confidence building.
Antibiotics were prescribed and I departed in much greater comfort and with peace of mind.
Summary - from start to finish my treatment could not be bettered.
Thank you
