My mum was rushed in to A& E early Sunday morning. She was admitted to ward 111 and finally had her gall bladder removed on Friday. In my view the care on ward 111 was awful, she shouldn’t have been on this ward as it is a short stay ward and there were hardly any staff. My dad had to call the nurses on the phone as they ignored my mum's call button, but answered the phone straight away.
She fell over while trying to get out of bed because no one came, another patient had to help her up. She needed help going to the toilet but they rolled their eyes and made her feel bad.
She has just been moved to ward 108 where she can be cared for properly.
It is not my mum's fault that she was put on the wrong ward or that they were short staffed. Healthcare is a vocation and only caring people should have the job.
