"Experience of a new patient"

About: High Pastures Surgery

As a new , recently registered patient my first experience at this surgery has been really positive . I have regular medications on repeat prescription , thinking I was following the correct procedure I requested my final repeat prescription from my old gp surgery , I had moved due to a house move . Upon arrival at my old surgery they told me there was no prescription for me as I had registered with another gp. After a frantic dash to High Pastures and explains my predicament I was treated with the utmost of respect , even though I have not met any of the doctors yet . The receptionist on duty asked me to fill in a prescription request , without any prompting from me she said someone would contact me , hopefully the same day , to communicate with me the status of my request . In due course I was telephoned , as promised the same day. I was offered part of my prescription , upon explain my plight , the lady I spoke to went out of her way to make sure I was given the remainder of my requested prescription on the understanding I make a gp appointment as soon as possible to have a review . I really could not ask for a better service . Communication is really important and my first experience at High Pastures evidences that the staff who spoke with me had excellent communication and people person skills.
