"Maternity services review"

A big thank you to the Maternity department at North Mid. I had an induction, which ended in a forceps delivery and haemorrhage, but my care by the brilliant doctors and midwives was fantastic. I felt they were very attentive, explained each stage to me thoroughly and gave me the opportunity to ask questions about anything that had happened after delivery. Our stay lasted 6 nights and we had a large, clean private room throughout, from the labour ward to postnatal and then maternity ward. There are pull-out sofa beds for partners, which was much appreciated for a long stay like ours.

I visited Triage and the Maternity Day Unit a few times while pregnant and was also always reassured by the care there. They saw me quickly, were thorough and knowledgable, and I felt always erred on the side of caution, twice referring me for same-day scans.

Having met numerous different doctors and midwives over the course of my pregnancy and labour, I was very impressed with the consistency of the care. Thank you to all who kept myself and my baby safe - I will always be grateful.

In addition, I’ll point out that we conceived thanks to the Fertility department at North Mid, with their IUI treatment. This was also a positive experience (in more ways than one!), with staff who put me at ease throughout.
