"Disgrace"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

I went in charring cross hospital to have varicose vein treatment on my leg.

I was seen by a nurse who did my paper work and told me that consent form was already filled in I just had to sign it, the contsent form was not discussed with me nor did I get a chance to read it.

I was to remove my clothing and put a gown on it was a very small room where had to wait for the consultant after a few mins the consultant came in with Four students and one doctor who wanted to learn how to perform the surgery which at time I wasn’t aware.

I was not asked if they can all come in I felt very uncomfortable and uneasy about lifting the gown up in front of them and thought that was the end of it they are gone .

When they took me to treatment room the two doctors starting preparing me for surgery no thought about my dignity I was naked waste down and was expecting the nurse to prepare me.

While they were preparing me the four students were stand on my feet side and could see me naked I wanted to cry and I’m crying as I’m writin this.

I asked for them all to leave and the consultant said they want to see surgery I insisted that I don’t want them there it’s making me uncomfortable

I had to ask a few times then in stroppy tone he told them to leave saying oh she doesn’t want you here he made feel like I was being unreasonable.

When I asked why the other doctor not going he told me that he had to stay and because he want to learn how to do procedure the consultant was supervising him with procedure on on my leg I could hear him tellling him , you come do this part do this way and that the whole time he was communicating with him when I was crying out in pain asking for more anecetic he just said really it’s not painful.

After the procedure he told him now upstairs are going to let you preform these

In the beginning of procedure he asked if he was nicer then the other consultant who did procedure on my other leg I repiied that other consultant was very nice he made feel very comfortable.

He was like really he’s nicer then me, I found that a bit strange he I was asking me to compare.
