"Terrible surgery I’m goikg to change to another gp"

About: Kingsway Surgery

The worst surgery I have ever been too in my 38 years alive . They have a terrible system that is supposed to allow you to book appointments but it never has any availability, my husband has had a terrible cough for almost three weeks been trying for a week to get him an appointment no luck at all!!! I’m pretty sure if it was a cough that was a sign of cancer and he then had that diagnosis he would suddenly be important enough to care about! I can never get an appointment when I normally need one either unless I’m off work sick already! Locum doctors constantly all the original doctors left I can now see why I’m going to make a formal complaint to the practice manager and if that doesn’t get a good response then I will take it higher to the nhs trust govening the area it’s shocking we pay into the national insurance and tax for the government to give us this farce of a practice. Get it sorted out and quickly kingsway surgery or you will have no patients left

I am sorry to note that you feel dissatisfied with the service you have received from the practice. As a practice, we take all feedback and comments seriously.

I would like to address your concerns as follows:-

Our automated appointment system has been designed so that patients are able to arrange an appointment around their schedules and commitments. It was changed after patient feedback reflected the past method of arranging appointments did not fulfil this need.

While it may not always be possible to see a GP, we have appointments daily with Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The Practitioner Team are able to assess acute on-the day problems and carry out almost all the same duties as the GP. This includes but is not limited to, diagnosis, referrals, prescriptions and results.

We have also recently made alterations to our appointment schedules, allowing patients to book up to one to two weeks in advance and have extended our long term conditions management clinics. We also have telephone consultations that are available to book in the morning, if patients feel that the problem can be solved without a face to face visit.

We have also employed three new GP’s in recent months, which includes Dr Anjum, Dr Dravid and Dr Azhari. Dr Mahatma was also employed by us earlier this year. It is incredibly rare that we employ locum GP’s, however we do still utilise their services to cover GP absences from time to time and only if there is no other alternative.

Unfortunately, despite all these changes and more appointment availability, we cannot guarantee patients will find an appointment to match their convenience exactly. In these situations, our staff do try to accommodate patients to the best of their ability. However, we are currently investigating adding further appointments to our extended hours clinics, to address this issue.

We are always working to ensure patients receive the best possible care and should you wish to discuss matters further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards

Michelle Cank

Practice Manager
