"Appointment times in between"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

I am sad that i have to wrire out this complaint as al the way upto my surgery i had nothing but good things to say. Appointments were good and kept i wasnt waiting more than 6weeks for an appointment. Staff were all lovely and helpfull. Receptionists were excellent and welcoming and always helped as much as they could. My orthodontist and surgeon and all the team involved were excellent and my surgery went well.

I am now post double jaw surgery and have braces in. I have had these in for 3 years and 2 months. 1 year 2 months post opp.

I was advised they would be in for a total of 2 and half three years (total time pre and post surgery).

My appointments have been cancelled and resceduled a few times now and when ive been given an appointment its for months after.

I was booked for an appointment on 6th october 2018 and my next appointment was booked for first week in december (8 weeks later) was requested for 6 weeks! This has now been moved all the way to Feb 4th 2019.

An appointment which should be every 4-6/8weeks max has been given to me after 4 months (16weeks). Without any adjustments of braces in between this time this is ridiculous!

I am 27 years old and being post surgery this is extremely frustrating. Surgery itself put a hold on my life and now this is making it even worse.

In the past this has happened to me before where ive had appointments moved and been pysically unable to book an appointment with a gap less than 8/9 weeks.

I have called to try and move appointments and have been spoken to rather rude over the phone by the receptionist which i didnt quite appreciate either.

I have also been given the number for complaints and have had no luck after calling everyday. Have left my details for a call back and nothing which is why i am resulting to this.

At this point i can say im fed up and would rather just have my braces out than spend another year longed out becuase im getting on average appointments every 12/16 weeks meaning i am only having 3-4 appointments a year to tighten and adjust braces as part of a treatment when you should be having them every 4-6 weeks making that 8-13 appointments per year.

I think its unacceptable and want someone to raise this and esculate!!!!!!
