"Emergency"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

We called 111 after finding our dad on the floor they requested an urgent ambulance. We waited 3 hours for this “urgent” ambulance. We then waited in A&E over 4 hours before a CT scan was carried out. When the scan came back “not normal” A&E transferred dad to the “medic team” where we are still waiting now some 7 hours after A&E sent us to this team. So all in all we have been in QE urgent care 11 hours and still none the wiser. I think this is wholly unacceptable.

I will be highlighting the points you raised to the whole team by sharing your experience with all staff so that we can learn from this with the aim of improving the future level of care we provide to our patients. If you would like your concerns investigated further and receive a formal response please contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on 020 8836 4592.
