I attended LCH for an outpatients appointment for a suspected hernia. I saw the dr who appeared very rushed and appeared not to listen to a word I said. They referred me for a abdominal CT despite me saying I’d already had one and I doubted it would reveal the problem. I humoured them and had the CT.
I attended the follow up appointment to find it had been cancelled (My appointment was for a Saturday, it was cancelled the Sunday before but the cancellation letter was sent out the day after the original scheduled time). I contacted PALS to complain and was promised a call back from outpatients but have never received this. When I eventually got to see a dr to discuss the CT they were pleased to inform me they couldn’t see anything on the CT, I became exacerbated at this point as this was as I’d suspected and had told them would be the case. I then questioned the dr as to what exactly was the lump, who became puzzled as I have a noticeable palpable lump. The dr took another look at the CT report and said they didn’t completely agree with the report and thought they could see something on the CT but wasn’t an expert so would ask for it to be discussed at the x-ray meeting and would write to me.
Needless to say I haven’t heard since and have no confidence that I will. I am now faced with going back to my GP and even considering private. The whole experience has been a shambles.
