I was recently referred to the Eye Casualty as I had a lesion on my optic nerve caused by an infection. I have to say that the level of service and attention to my needs was amazing. I was treated with care and dilligence by all staff, and the Opthamologist was extremely attentive and genuinely sympathetic to my concerns. He spent a great deal of time explaining things and allowing me the opportunity to ask questions. He and the rest of the team took excellent care of me. I did not feel as though I had to wait a long time and I could see that other patients were being seen in the same manner. My infection was diagnosed and a course of treatment cleared up the problem very quickly. The ophthalmologist seemed really pleased with the results and I actually felt that he cared about the problem so I highly recommend this department and his work.
I also made use of the breakfast canteen and I had a freshly prepared sausage bap which I would rate for quality and value for money. Overall a good experience which made up for the fact that I was ill.
"Ophthalmologist - Highly commended"
