"Your in safe hands"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

I had my tooth extracted yesterday Tues 27th Nov at 2.45 pm. I am a very anxious and fearful person of anything to do with teeth. I had my consultation a week ago, the receptionist was very cheerful and efficient, my consultation was informative. I got my appt a week after consultation.

For anyone like myself, all I can say is you have nothing to fear, says me! Seriously the team I had were amazing, I cannot remember their names. There were two surgeons and one nurse. They explained everything before the extraction. The fear was all in my head, because seriously I never felt any of the three injections, one of the surgeons kept talking and assuring me, the other did the injections with no discomfort to me, I cannot big the team up enough. The nurse explained all the aftercare at the end.

The tooth came out no problem. Although I was a cry baby, I never felt an ounce of pain once. So please all those like myself, be assured the team were so calming and reassuring, it proved the actual fear was not necessary. I want to thank the team, I have never had a problem with the NHS the staff were brilliant.

Thank you!

You are not alone in having fears - dental phobia is a recognised condition - so it sounds as if you were just as amazing as our staff! Well done!

It was lovely to read about how well the extraction went and how the staff calmed and reassured you. I have shared this with the team and I know they will love reading it too.

Take care and thanks again

Jennie
