"Bad experience with early pregnancy clicnic"

About: Southmead Hospital / Maternity care

I went to early pregnancy clinic on Wednesday morning through GP referral I had to wait 5hours in waiting room area ,when I felt hungry because of severe nausea and vomiting I just ate egg sandwich which I got on request to receptionist and after that I just sat and waited waited and went to ask when my turn would be one of the nurse or midwife I don't know exactly she replied me in rude way saying I'm well off to speak and walk not required urgent attention ,only people who can't do it they prefer them ...which I felt very bad even I was sick and so hungry ..why would have gone when I'm well off ...I'm really scared of my delivery day I don't know how they are going treat me only because I'm not crying nor doing any drama ...they are going to ignore my labour and after labour..

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that you had a poor experience when you attended the Early Pregnancy clinic, and that you had to wait so long to be seen, when you were feeling so poorly.

I have shared your comments with the clinic for them to be aware of your experience.

You do say that you are scared of your delivery day as you feel you will be ignored, I would wish to reassure you assure you that when you do have your baby you will be treated well and with the utmost of respect.

However, to allay your concerns please speak to your midwife about your fears and she will be able to support you.

If you wish to make a formal complaint about your experience, please contact us at Complaints@nbt.nhs.uk Yours sincerely, Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager.
