On Sunday 11th November 2018, at 11:30am, I experienced sudden-onset chest pain at home and was transported to Wexham Park Hospital by ambulance, under blues & twos.
Upon arrival in A&E I was suffering an acute, anterior myocardial infarction and was rushed to the Cardiac Cath-Lab for PCI and had a stent inserted in my RCA.
The treatment, information provided, respect of my privacy and behavior of all staff was faultless as far as I was concerned and was a shining example of the NHS.
I worked for the NHS myself for 10 years (many years ago) and have worked with the NHS, providing equipment and services, for many years since - but the care and professionalism showed by all Trust employees with whom I came in contact was of the highest standard and has made me even more proud of the NHS than I already was.
Upon discharge from the CCU on 13th November I have the highest hope for my health for the future and am genuinely looking forward to maintaining contact with the Cardiac Dept. when I begin my rehabilitation.
Thank you Wexham Park Hospital, from the 'apex of my myocardium' (bottom of my heart!)
