I was seen at Pontefract Hospital Scoping Unit for a cystoscopy to check my bladder for cancer.
I was given bad news by the consultant and was swiftly moved to another room to be seen by a macmillan nurse.
I thought the way that Pontefract Hospital Scoping Unit handled my care was terrible and VERY frightening.
I was referred for another cystoscopy at Pinderfields with an overnight stay which was to take a biopsy and removed what the first procedure had shown.
The staff at Gate 40 Surgical Day Ward was fantastic, they kept me informed.
I was admitted at 11am but never got into theatre til 5pm.
The gentleman who was doing my procedure was EXCELLENT.
He came to see me before my procedure and explained everything to me.
Him and his team in theatre was FANTASTIC with me.
They ALL made me feel at ease.
The recovery room staff was also GREAT.
It was about 20 minutes after my procedure that I was transferred from recovery to ward 34.
The staff on ward 34 were BRILLIANT.
The staff were VERY helpful, caring and compassionate and I could not ask for better care.
Through out my stay the urology team and nursing staff on ward 34 were OUTSTANDING.
My care plan through out and timings of treatment has been top class.
I would recommend this gentleman and Urology at Pinderfields but I would NOT recommend the scoping unit at Pontefract Hospital they are nothing but SCARE people
"An EXTREMELY good SERVICE and Care"
