About: Merton Lodge Surgery

A simple procedure when ear wax drops don't work, i.e., having one or both ears syringed to remove wax for better hearing, especially when having become deaf because of wax build-up, but no infection may I say: My appointment to see a practise nurse was a bit of a pointless one (although examined by the nurse and told my right ear was blocked with wax) because I was told that the Merton Lodge Surgery no-longer syringe ears and also the ear wax drops can not no-longer be obtained on prescription, this to include senior citizens. The drops I bought did not work for me.

So, now I have an appointment to have one ear syringed at an hospital in Lincoln.

I earlier after a fall had a scan in Louth for my left shoulder area and needed steroid injections, However, Merton Lodge did not give me the needed injections I had to go to a medical centre in Mablethorpe.

When needing repeat prescriptions at Merton Lodge we no-longer can use the phone-line for them, so we have to go to Alford and put a request form in a box. This means 4 journeys instead of 2 and we are told while in Alford doing shopping or other reasons we can then pop into the surgery to collect the prescription. However, I go the other way from Alford most of the time.

When sitting in the waiting room for an appointment we can view the information TV screen and it is amazing what services are slowly being reduced and new restrictions.

How long can such a practice be of a community public service.
