"Bereavement care"

About: Birmingham Hospice – Erdington

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

It really helped me having someone to really understand what I was going through. Spending an hour really thinking about how things affected me helped.

As we talked through how I was feeling it made me realise it was OK to feel both happy and sad. It helped me to look at different ways to cope with how I felt.

The service provided a great sounding board as I was at a point where, without the hospice's help, I do not know where I would have been.

I am extremely grateful that my counsellor Lynne accepted me for therapy and feel much better about my situation and my future.
