UCLH and Royal Free are in my catchment area, and one friend recommended UCLH so I self-referred. I have so far spoken to two incredibly rude people on the phone in the maternity unit at this hospital and it has put me off so much that I'm not going there. Instead I will be going to the Royal Free who have been nothing but kind, courteous and helpful on the phone. I understand the NHS may be stretched but there is no excuse for staff who are consistently rude and belligerent.
