About: Borders General Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 7)

(as a service user),

A few weeks ago I had an operation at the Borders General Hospital in Melrose . I want to say a big thank you to the surgical team and nurses in HDU and Ward 7 . I was always well looked after and made to feel cared about , and even the food was good .

Having lived abroad where public healthcare is not provided for , I know just how lucky we are to have the NHS . And rumour has it that the BGH is one of the best hospitals in Europe -- we Borderers can be proud of that !

One small criticism : sometimes there could be better communication between the doctors and the nurses concerning treatments & tests needed .
