"Sandbourne Suite"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

Last week I had orthopaedic surgery in the Sandbourne Suite as a day patient.

The admissions desk staff were very welcoming-they even laughed at one of my husband's silly jokes!

The Staff Nurse who did the pre admission check was very friendly and informed me exactly what was going to happen and I was kept up to date with waiting times to the best of her ability.

I went to main theatres for my operation and again anaesthetic staff were lovely as was my Recovery nurse.I was given analgesia when required.

Once back in the Day ward I was offered food and drink and monitored carefully prior to my discharge.

Thank you everyone.

I hope you are recovering well from your orthopaedic surgery and thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

If the jokes were anything like my fathers were, I won’t ask you to share them with me but it is good to know the admissions clerk was able to make both you and your husband feel welcome and you were kept informed about what was happening and timings while waiting for your operation.

We are pleased to hear your time in theatre and recovery went smoothly and we will make sure that your kind comments are shared with them as well as the staff on the Sandbourne Suite.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and you find the surgery beneficial.

Regards

Patient Engagement Team
