"Had my first baby at this hospital"

About: Homerton University Hospital / Maternity

I had my first baby at this hospital back in July. I attended all the antenatal classes here, which were great. Everything from the scans, blood tests etc were fantastic. I was absolutely petrified when I became pregnant, I am 30 and never been in hospital or had a blood test in my life! The staff were absolutely amazing and put me at ease, the phlebotomists are absolutely lovely and cared for me well knowing I was nervous. Let me tell you, they never hurt one bit and having blood taken from my hand, supposedly the most painful place to have it. Delivery suite is great, I went from being low risk in the birth centre to then having to have an emergency c section. Literally my worst nightmare happened, but the staff made me feel at ease. They told me everything that was going to happen and made sure I was in the know. But after 3 days of being in labour I didn’t care what they did haha. They are so laid back, even spoke about England in the World Cup whilst operating on me....just shows you how normal they are : ) it was the night England lost and came out of the World Cup by the way. My partner missed it haha what a shame! I highly recommend this hospital, I couldn’t fault them one bit. If and that’s a big IF, I have anymore children I will definitely use this hospital again. Thank you so much to all the staff and the students midwifes, you are all amazing and you don’t get enough praise for what you do. I appreciate every single one of you : )
