"Teething problems with the blood test system?"

It makes a lot of sense to have an online booking system for blood tests, and when I booked an appointment online for a routine, non-urgent test I was impressed that it was really easy and the appointment was exactly on time and very quick with friendly staff.

BUT - the service is definitely not working properly yet. The first appointment you can book is two weeks away - this is no good at all for urgent referrals (I am pregnant and was recently advised by the midwife to have my iron levels checked urgently - this is impossible).

As well as this, I notice a lot of people really struggle with the online booking system and there are lots of people who get very confused and upset in the waiting room as they try to book in. There are no staff to help them. It always seems to be the most vulnerable patients who struggle the most, which is really worrying.
