"High praise for Coln Ward"

I am just passing on my sincere thanks and admiration for your team on Coln Ward.

My father has been on the ward for several weeks, the care and kindness he has received has been impressive. From the second he arrived he was made to feel welcome, he was incredibly frightened but your team instantly put him at ease and asked heaps of questions about him as an individual.

The whole atmosphere is professional and the staff genuinely keep the patient at the centre of what they are doing, the respect and patience they demonstrate is admirable. I have never felt so reassured and confident about the care my Dad was receiving.

And it's not just the important day to day tasks that are sensitively delivered, it's the tiny things too that really do demonstrate a genuine caring attitude to the patients.

You have a great team there and we have been very fortunate to have had this experience. I have been nursing since 1984 and seen the best and the worst of care in that time, as a professional and as a relative. The atmosphere on Coln is testament to the management team, thank you so much for looking after my Dad so expertly; the physios have been incredible, the kitchen team,the domestics, the nurses and the HCAs are all extremely kind, caring and professional. The standard of care delivered by your HCAs is truly remarkable, they work to a high standard and are very perceptive; special thanks too to the Care Navigator who gave me expert guidance and support, she showed immense understanding and has exceptional insight and understanding.
