"Admitted November 2nd Renal Colic"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Accident and emergency

After the out of hours GP booked ambulance which arrived within 40 minutes was admitted to A&E minors within 15 minutes, quickly assessed and transferred to Majors

admission although the department was busy (as unfortunately it always I’m sure is) was rapid.

In extreme pain was given rapid pain releif and after some time taken to CT which apparently confirmed kidney stones which on arrival back in majors was fully informed and advised what the immediate treatment plan would be.

Throughout until discharge all staff were courteous and absolutely care focussed despite all needs being occupied.

Staff were nothing short of fantastic and honestly I could not fault a single element from admission in acute pain to being discharged some hours later completely comfortable and pain free.

Thank you all for the amazing dedicated and professional care and above all I was kept advised at every stage of the process.

This in itself was testament to the quality of care I received despite A&E being so busy.

Once again many thanks I can’t say it was a delight being admitted yet I left thinking amidst all the apparent pressure the staff were continually under every single member showed the true meaning of what our NHS is all about.
