I'm really hoping you can find the lady that went above and beyond whilst helping me get an appointment with the Foot Surgeon Dr Aktselis. I had been advised by his secretary around 3 weeks ago an appointment for my consultation for surgery would be going out. After 2 weeks nothing came. So I called back to find she was now off sick. On a bad note I left 3 voice messages with Medical Secretaries none of which were responded to. I then left another message on another answer machine, again no response.   I called back to speak to Switchboard and the young man that answered suggested I speak with Outpatients booking. Good idea. I was advised I was 17th in the queue but this did move quite quickly.

The lady that answered could not have been more helpful, She was kind, showed empathy and did exactly what she said she would do. She made some enquiries whilst I was on the phone and explained about a clinic restructuring for Dr Aktselis. She explained I may have to wait till Jan or even go back to my doctor for re-referral.   She then said she would speak to a colleague in another team of secretaries and come back to me. This she did within half an hour. She then explained that they would need to speak to Dr Aktselis himself to find out if I could book an appointment direct.   He was in clinic and they could try and get him between appointments. She was unable to call me back same day but rang me early the next day, apologising.   she had nothing to apologise for.  She then explained she had managed to get me an appointment for early November locally, I was over the moon.   This lady changed a stressful upsetting situation in a very positive one and I would have her on my team at work anytime.   I wish I could remember her name as I would her to receive some recognition of what she did for me. I can't publicly post specific details on this website but I can give exact times and dates of our calls.
