"How does teh appointment system work"

About: Southmead Hospital / Respiratory medicine

I booked in for my appointment at the desk, was called through to the next waiting room and waited 1.5 hours before the consultant came out and saw me waiting and said I was not on the clinic list and would never have been seen!!!

He arranged for his registrar to see me and happily discharged.

However, how can I book in with my letter and be told twice that I was in the right clinic etc and then not be on the list. Come on Southmead get your act together this is not acceptable and if I had not seen the consultant by chance could have been sitting in the clinic indefinitely.
