I have suffered from a dull sinus pain sensation since my youth. Back before the Millenium in Glasgow I got a crown done on my left eyetooth. This came loose and fell out once or twice so at a later date my own dentist in Glenrothes, on the cusp of retirement, replaced it with a socket that held firm.
It soon developed signs of pain so he referred me to Leven for a root canal treatment and then to Dundee Dental Hospital. Xrays showed up no signs of abscess, etc. so the specialist eventually had to dub it Atypical Odontalgia..and disappointingly, Pain Management was my only recourse.Fast tracking to present time: Just before I was to report back to my specialist for latest referral after slowly coming of medication I was alarmed not only by the bad pain in my face but also by a not disimilar and hence possibly linked nerve pain around my joints in general like a numb pins and needles. Tendonitis was my own rough guess. Unfortunately my specialist had to cancel that appointment due to illness. By the time I got an appointment remnants of that pain, mainly in lower left limb still persisted. She speculated a virus. This is debilitating such and confidence sapping. Long protracted waits when something or other might be done for the patient is conterproductive in my view. My complaint however is more to do with the NHS in general not the Dental Hospital who have been too good; the doctor seemed to be on the same wavelength looking to treat the whole person.
