Admitted to A&E with excruciating pain ambulance crew were great. Took 11 hours before I got a bed in assessment unit where some if the staff were useless. Left on a bedpan and unable to support myself any longer it spilt all because the nursing staff didn't come back quick enough. Admitted at 2am to a ward at completely irrelevant to my condition a Dr decided I was fit to go home! I was still in terrible pain and could hardly move and physio came and said I wasn't fit to go home. After a few days I was sent to s ward where you are deemed medically fit to home home. Pain team were meant to come see me but nobody came. Finally after I complained pain team came briefly and said I needed my GP to refere me to the pain team. I just wanted to go home so they discharged me and a Dr wrote a prescription fit me it was late afternoon. To top it of it was rejected by pharmacy because he had written it wrongly using numbers instead of words so I had to stay another night. My point if all thisi moaning is that if I had been told what wears happening and seen by relevant people sooner I would been home within 5/6 days instead 12 days. When the NHS are so strapped for cash surely the system needs to work and it doesn't. While I have been in there I have heard same story from many people. Some of the staff seem to have south fun they forget they have patients. I don't have s problem with them having a laugh and joke about after they have done their jobs.I have been to pinderfiields for outpatient appointments before but this is my first time as an impatient and I won't choose to come back even though I live 2 mins away. Please pinderfiields management get it sorted out.
