Have always found the staff here to be off hand but more recently they have become obstructive.

I appreciate that there is a wait for routine appointments (over 6 weeks in my case) and that demands on the service should require no apology but to make patients feel it is their fault when they try to arrange a convenient appointment is unacceptable.

I attended the surgery one evening recently and needed to wait for a short period in the waiting room and I was able to hear the consultations of two patients who had gone into the clinical area. I was privy to information that was clearly confidential- the first patient was obviously hard of hearing so the clinician had to shout which exacerbated the problem but the second had no such issues!

It was obvious the door was open and no regard for sound travelling had been made.

Apologies that the service you have received at the surgery has not been a positive one. I have highlighted to the Reception Team manager the importance of great customer service especially whilst we are training our new staff and I hope that the same will not happen again. Please understand that our receptionist are not being obstructive, they have a strict protocol in place to follow when dealing with patients which has been implemented by the Partners at the surgery. With regard to patients confidentiality we do have the door leading to clinical rooms closed for this reason. If you wish to discuss further please contact the surgery.
