"Treatment for my 3 year old Son"

My 3 year old son became quite poorly on Saturday. I contacted 111 who advised to take him to Gloucester Hospital. I decided to call into Lydney Hospital first as I also have a 3 month old son and didn’t want to do the trip unless necessary. I was glad I did! We were seen straight away once they took our details and symptoms and once assessed and monitored it became apparent my son was in greater need of medical assistance than we realised. A staff member looked after us and treated us until the ambulance service arrived. My son became very distressed but I was provided with full support and kept informed the whole time of his treatment and the plan.

We spent time in the high dependency unit and have just been discharged after 5 days on the children’s ward at Gloucester.It was very stressful but I was grateful for the great service provided locally and know it could of been a lot worse if I hadn’t of had their support at the beginning of his treatment.
