"Severe Psoriasis Outbreak Consultation"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Dermatology

My GP booked an emergency consultation for psoriasis at Croydon University Hospital. I had a first outbreak of psoriasis in July, and in less then 45 days my whole body was covered, including hair, intimate areas, palms and soles of my feet.

Ointments don't make any difference unless I sleep wrapped in clean film head to toe (every night).

My hair is scaling so badly that I had to cut my hair short and dye it blond so that scaling wouldn't be as noticeable to the outside world.

I was told by the dermatology consultant that I will be booked for urgent UVB treatment considering the severity of the outbreak.

Seven weeks later, I still haven't heard from them.

I'm still in pain and agony.

I tried calling every other day, usually the phone is ringing for up to 15 minutes at which point I give up because it is obvious that no one is going to answer.

I understand that a lot of patients are in a similar situation. Otherwise we wouldn't be refereed to specialists, I appreciate that the department is busy, but I am loosing my will to live.

I hope to hear from them soon.

Thanks
