"This time simply A close call/life savers"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

12/9/18 ag ain came to A&E this time with family again had had severe headaches but in a different place to before my nose bleed at the end of July had my bloods checked at 12noon at st lukes in bfd as i take warfarin amongst other things for a fast af & copd iremember staff asking if i was ok and as i was saying yes i heard my sister saying does she look ok shes not right i cant get anyone to believe me on agreement she was right she mentioned A&E AT CALDERDALE i said dont u dare call an ambulance theyll be busy we will go on the bus.Dont remember leaving st lukes or the bus journey to yourselves apparently people were staring just before i got to you triage nurse agreed something was wrong and once seen by dr was sent to huddersfield for a scan your was apparently broken my sister was told 40 minutes remember being asked to lay face down according to sis i was back with you in exactly the time given she said a dr picked up the results and said whos is this From there on in i would have been scared if id been conscious and heading in the opposite direction the dr was overheard having a heated discussion with LGI &Saying you listen it wont wait i heard blue light mentioned it didnt bother me i once went to BRI the same way but being awake i told them not to rush as i drive this way to work apparently they were waiting for me but had to discuss treatment due to on going problems. In theatre by 9 and woke up on HDU at14.30 they came to tell me everything had gone fine couldnt understand the noise till i saw the drips and everything else to go with it was only there 5 days! Bleed/midline shift the consultant came to ask some questions not sure what I replied dont worry ive had nothing upstairs for years. Again as with nose bleed you should be proud of all staff involved you listened to my sister great team great care otherwise i wouldnt be writing this ive worked it out to hours. Sorry to ramble on but if it cheers one member of staff when there having a bad day or saves just one other life its worth it as for the complaints I've read I couldnt possibly comment id get locked up my favourite words for yrs have been team work respect, patience trust and above all listen, and common sense its not often I dont know what to say thankyou!
