I had an outpatient appointment at one of the clinics in Lincoln hospital and must say the healthcare assistants were so rude. My first encounter after being sat in reception waiting for my appointment was a hca asking me for my notes. I didn’t have any. To which they tutted in my face and huffed off.
The second hca took me for a couple of standard tests. They may be standard tests to some people but I have a mental health conditions which meant that those tests brought a lot of anxiety and fear. I had previously been told I was having the tests the next week so was t prepared for this to be sprung on me. I said I didn’t want them, that I was having them next week, and I’d prefer to wait. To which this hca started arguing with me in the waiting room, telling me I was wrong and I had to do them. Didn’t respect my wishes and gave no thought to the anxiety that I was feeling at the thought of those tests. Absolutely no compassion, I felt like I was just a problem to this member of staff. I was eventually stuck back in reception without the tests, but I’d had to refuse a number of times, argue and be humiliated in front of the waiting room and this was disgusting. I hope I never have to go back to Lincoln
