"Inefficient and ridiculous"

About: Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust

The A and E department has had various makeovers...the latest being new signage regarding "Streamlining services"... This place has clearly zero idea about streamlining and efficiency. I was told by NHS direct to go straight to A&E who would be informed of my arrival. I was told I would be seen immediately. I arrived, signed in at a window...was sent to another window to answer the same questions again then told to take a seat. 2 hours later I was called to the "Streamlining Room" where I answered THE SAME questions a THIRD time...still needing urgent treatment. No treatment was given AT ALL during a 4 hour wait...

NHS direct diagnosed me over the phone, I knew what I needed myself, The hospital were told what I needed, yet nobody DID anything. I was offered 2 paracetamol...completely irrelevant to my situation. I COULD have gone there, been given what I needed and been home again within an hour and a half. I believe the constant "new looks" new signage, invented job titles "Streamlining professional" , "Streamlining Nurse" etc a actually a MASSIVE waste of valuable resources which should, instead be spent on improving the ACTUAL efficiency of treatment ( if you're lucky enough to get any that is). All the signing in at 1 window...then another window...then "streamlining room" are ACTUALLY just there to trick patients into thinking they have actually received treatment...so the hospital can tick its box and claim to have met targets...you are a hospital. People don't come to you by choice. If you are not efficiently and effectively TREATING patients, you are NOT hitting targets. Stuff your targets. Your patients are HUMAN BEINGS. Ludicrous.
