"Appointments never materialising"

About: Falkirk Community Hospital / Chronic Pain Service

(as a service user),

I attended the Pain Clinic in Falkirk at the start of May and was told I would get another in 4 months which has never materialised leaving me in a lot of pain this was exacerbated by having to wait 3 months to be put on medication they suggested unfortunately this medication has made no difference. Sometimes I feel I’m a nuisance to the NHS who just want me to go away and not annoy them.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so sorry that you have been waiting longer than advised for your follow up appointment. We don't want any of our patients to have long waits for appointments and you have highlighted the concerning issue that our waiting times are much longer than we would like. This is something that we are actively trying to improve. I appreciate the frustration that this must be causing you, particularly when you have also experienced delays in starting the treatment advised to you by the service.

I am very sorry we haven't met your expectations and if you would like me to look into the details of your wait and provide you with an idea of when you might be likely to receive your appointment, I’d be happy to do this. You can email me at dianne.hagart@nhs.net and leave your contact details and I will get back to you.
