"not knowing what's happening"

About: Children and young people / Integrated therapy service

(as a service user),

18 weeks ago I was referred to the Integrated Therapy Service for help for my young son. I was sent an initial letter and asked to call the Service to sort of register, I guess, which I did, leaving details on the answer phone.

It's now been 12 weeks since I did this and have heard nothing, I keep wondering if they received the message or if the details got erased or chewed up  or something! My son is at school and I was hoping to get the therapy started  before school started to give him more confidence. I just don't know for sure whether I have an appointment or not.

Hello,

Thanks for posting on Care Opinion and letting us know about your difficulties with the Integrated Therapy Service. I am really sorry about the waiting time you have had and I am not sure what has led to this delay however I will contact the Service Manager now and find out for you. As soon as I have spoken with her, I will post again.

Hello again,

I have spoken with Ruth, one of the Team Managers who has explained that the waiting time is currently about 18 weeks, which should be explained on the voicemail where you left your contact details. Ruth confirmed that your child's appointment will be sent out in due course, but completely understands the frustration with the wait and the communication. If you want to discuss it further, you can call the team and the Manager will call you as soon as possible. I am not sure which location you are from, so I have listed all the contact details below.
