Hi All
I went as usual for my Wednesday night volunteering and decided as well as being with and talking with the patients and their families I would try and obtain some useful observations...positive and negative.
The positive observations and comments were overflowing like sweet honey out of the jar and although I tried (very hard) to gently illicit some observations that could help with improving the service at St Lukes they were not forthcoming, they were like hard set honey...……...However I did preserve and here goes
1) there were confusion over if the doors and windows in the rooms could remain open and be closed by the patients or whether the opening and closing times were dictated by the staff?
2) number of family members and visitors and the noise they generated in the four bedded room, for someone with only one visitor was overwhelming.
Really both the above were considered minor...………
Hope this helps
