About: The Lawson Practice

Can't get an appointment. Saw a nurse today re possible skin cancer on my nose (have had liquid nitrogen treatment for this before) but she said I had to have a doctor look at it. The doctor had to be a skin specialist. One of these was on sabbatical and the other only works two days a week. I couldn't make an appointment at the practice in person. I then tried online but the system wasn't working. I then rang up, held on for ages and was told I had to ring at 12.30 on Weds to get an appointment on Thurs. No doubt everyone else will be ringing in then too.

Quite honestly I just wanted to chop my nose off. It would be less painful than trying to get seen at this practice.

Thank you. You are absolutely right that this is madness. The nurse should have organised an appointment for you. This is very useful because we can do something about this. If you can let us know who you are, I will organise for one of the two doctors with extra skills in skin problems to see you. We will also feed back to the nursing team that the new system doesn't mean they can't ask us to sort appointments for patients in this sort of situation. Apologies again and please approach us so that we can sort this for you.
