Attended a&e after advice due to chronic pain/fibromyalgia.
My pain has been so bad that it has actually made me suicidal. I waited 8 hours to be seen by a doctor to be told they couldn’t do anything. Was told I could be admitted for pain management/treatment but said that I didn’t need it.
I’ve never attended for chronic pain (although did attend for hip pain and was sent home to find it dislocated/subluxed and only went back in after I moved in bed the next morning) as I normally just find a way to deal with it but I just couldn’t cope with it at all and spent all day crying in pain.
How bad does my pain have to be to be taken seriously and be given some help? Instead of just referring me back to my GP who says they can’t do anything more.
