"Emergency C section"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I was due to give birth naturally last week at Tameside general hospital after being induced, things didn’t quite go to plan which resulted in me being rushed to theatre and having to have an emergency section.

The midwife looking after me noticed something was wrong straight away and within 20-30 mins or so I had a baby, this is how fast they acted to get my baby delivered safely!

Every member of staff in that operating theatre were due to go home before I got rushed in, the doctor had his normal clothes on ready to go home but they still all performed my operation even laughing and joking with me to keep me calm! I couldn’t be more grateful for the care me and my baby received whilst down in the delivery suite!

This care and support continued when I was moved up to the labour ward where me and my baby were looked after by the most amazing team of midwifes! As a first time mum I didn’t have a clue how to feed my baby which was quite stressful when he wouldn’t take any milk from his bottle, but Gemma sat up with me at 3am teaching me how to feed him! He’s never got his bottle out of his mouth now!

I had to leave feedback as the NHS has too much negative feedback! How people have a right to complain when it’s free is beyond me!

So for a change I wanted to stress how well me and my baby were looked after and how eternally grateful I am to every member of staff that we met and that looked after us!!!!!

THANKYOU!!!!! :)

From me and baby X
