"Brilliant doctors but awful booking"

About: Midway Surgery

Whist the GPs at the surgery are outstanding - incredibly thorough and caring, the appointment system is shocking. I recently have needed to see GPs urgently but have been unable to book an appointment for under a week and a half away.

As I work full time starting early morning, I do not have time to call the surgery 50+ times to make a same-day appointment as advised to by the receptionist staff. When I have made dozens of calls before I have still never been able to get through.

Most of the receptionist staff are polite, however the booking system and availability of appointment is appalling and frustrating.

I am sorry that you find our booking system frustrating, if you are unable to call for an urgent appointment first thing in the morning please still contact the Surgery. The Duty Doctor will contact you by telephone and arrange for you to come in if necessary. For a routine pre-bookable appointment a wait of up to a week and a half to see your preferred doctor is far above average. I would encourage you in the future to feedback to the management team at the surgery if you are not getting the outcome that you need so that we can look at the options available to you at that time.
