"Impressed"

About: Claremont Holyport Surgery

I thought I had a urine infection, I emailed my diabetic nurse at the surgery and enquired whether I might need a urine test.

She told me to bring a sample into the surgery which I did early afternoon.

The receptionist was helpful in giving me the appropriate paperwork to complete and I took away spare containers/paperwork for future use.

at approximately 400pm my doctor called me said the dip test showed an infection and suggested I should start antibiotics immediately as the sample would be sent for analysis but that could take time to return.

By 5.30 I had the prescription from the pharmacy.

We so often criticise doctors and the NHS but you were fantastic, helpful and informative. The doctor had a lovely manner on the phone and all involved should be commended.

Perhaps patients should take a bit more responsibility for their health in these financially pressurised times, stop going to the doctor with a cold and manage it themselves.

I didn't need to see a doctor, an email and a phone call sufficed and saved money and more importantly the practice nurse and the doctors valuable time that can be spent on more needy cases.

My thanks for your care we should value what we have before we lose it!
