"Within a short time she was very able to get about"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Stroke Unit (Ward 11)

(as a relative),

At every stage from dialling 999 to admission to Ward 11 the relatives' experience was a positive one. My mother had a stroke and fall and at A&E and once admitted to Ward 11, was treated with the upmost care, respect and friendliness by all the staff.

Within a short time (and lots of rehabilitation from the nurses, physiotherapist and occupational therapist) she was very able to get about and it became clear that she would get home as soon as a Social Work care package was put in place.

We were invited to a Carers' Meeting then a Social Work meeting then things fell into place with a 4x a day care package at home. Within 3 weeks and 2 days this 90 year old got home! Well done to the NHS for caring for her.
