I would be most grateful if you would pass on my sincere thanks to everyone at the Milton Keynes University Hospital and the Swan Practice in Buckingham for the impeccable service and treatment that I received recently.
My ailment was not great or urgent(a basal cell carcinoma that needed to be removed), but from the moment I went to the consultant and entered the “system” I was treated with me greatest promptness, courtesy, consideration, common sense, good humour and care. Waiting times were minimal and all my appointment happened on time or ahead of time. My special thanks go to three staff members for their expertise and efficiency. I cannot believe that a better medica; service exists anywhere else in the world.
I would also like to say how dismayed and disappointed I am with the constant carping criticism of the NHS, especially from the BBC. My own experience (which I know is confirmed by many others) is the complete contrary to their constant demoralising and debilitating barrage of complaints.
Their self-righteous outrage is undermining for patients as well as staff, unjustified, and destructive of good expectations and outcomes. Of course things go wrong from time to time, and perfection is not always achieved: so it is with any human endeavour.
For my part I shall spread the good news about the achievements and impeccable service of the NHS, and emphasise how lucky we are to have such good people looking after us.
My thanks again to all concerned. Please us this letter as you see fit.
"A big thank you!"
