"Orthopaedic ward A5 room 2 August 2018"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I had a fall on the 9th August 2018. Was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital by Ambulance. The crew were very caring , and gentle. On arrival I was then taken to the emergency. Where my day started with being told that I had broken my hip , and would need a DHS operation the same day . I was petrified. The staff were so friendly and made me very comfortable. After my operation I was taken to wardA5 room 2 .where all the staff went out off their way to make me comfortable. They were very caring, I know I was not their ideal patient as I don’t do pain !!! So my road to recovery started. Both the day and night teams were marvellous, nothing was to much trouble. The Physiotherapists were also doing a grand job , helping me through my paces each day . Giving me support and lots of encouragement. I was in hospital for 5 nights , I would just like to say a very huge

Thank you to all the Doctors and all the Nurses for taking time to help me home . Also the ladies who made the hot drinks during the day, they to are very caring. Nothing seemed to be any trouble for them . Not forgetting their smiling faces , when the job they do must be very challenging at times . I cannot thank them enough. Thank you .

Thank you for your kind comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding the care and treatment you received from the Orthopaedics Department at Wythenshawe Hospital. It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is lovely to receive positive feedback which reflects their hard work and dedication.

We were sorry to hear that you had a fall on 9th August; however we were pleased to read that you were very well cared for by the hospital staff most especially the doctors, the nurses and the ladies who made hot drinks on the ward, who went out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We were also pleased to read that the physiotherapists also helped you with your therapy as well as gave you support and encouragement.

We can assure you that your kind comments have been forwarded to the Head of Nursing for Surgery so that this can be shared with the consultant and the wider teams.
