"Cancer"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Urology (Bladder and Urinary problems)

(as a relative),

A year ago my husband got his diagnosis of prostate cancer.   Further investigation revealed kidney cancer as well.   We had an appointment early this year and met the surgeon who advised that my husband needed to come in in the next few weeks as he would begin to feel unwell quickly. However we then had to deal with high blood pressure which took some time to resolve.   We have not got a date for his op 13 months after initial diagnosis.   We rang at the start of August to be assured that op would take place in August.   My husband then rang to be told that his case is not serious.   He should be seen in October, really?   So we have gone from being admitted in a few weeks to months of uncertainty.   My husband has gone from a strong confident man to someone now in bed after tea. I for one am disgusted and will never believe anything anyone in the department has to say.

Dear Zebroid

I am very sorry to read of the trouble your husband has been encountering. I am really hoping that you have been given a date by now. If you have still not heard anything would you please ask your husband to get in touch with me and I can try to find out more detailed information on his behalf. I can be contacted by telephone on 01224 559259 or by email loldroyd@nhs.net

Kindest regards,
