The NHS gets such bad press, but my experience today was outstanding. Being over 70, I had concerns about my symptoms. The receptionist took time to listen and ensured I had an emergency appointment. Having phoned at 2.15 I was allocated a 3.50 appointment. Ok, the appointments were running late, but that can be expected with emergencies. To be seen the same day was a relief. The doctor I was allocated to was knowledgeable, professional and took time to listen.

She went to great lengths to reassure me and produced diagrams to explain my symptoms and diagnosis. Her tests were thorough to rule out anything sinister. After diagnosis, she referred me to a website for suggested exercises to remedy the symptoms. Throughout, I felt she understood my concerns and went above and beyond what I would have expected. Thank you to an all round professional team and especially the GP I was allocated to.
