I came to A&E on Sunday morning at 8am in considerable pain, and was seen within a few minutes by a great triage lady who immediately got my bloods off to test and sorted some pain relief and made me feel I was in very good hands. I was then seen by a doctor who did a diagnosis and organised an ECG and chest Xray; and I then when to the Surgical Assessment Unit for anti-biotics and pain relief. I was hugely impressed with the personal care and professionalism of the whole team and the level of service on a Sunday was really surprising. And everything was spotlessly clean and well organised.
Something tells me that the best run parts of the NHS have been providing a proper 7 day service long before Jeremy Hunt ever opened his mouth.
Once I was stable, I was moved to the Parkview and had an ultrasound on Monday to confirm the diagnosis of a gallstone and as my pain had been managed well, I was then able to go home that day.
I'd like to thank everyone in A&E and the SAU who looked after me on Sunday, that was very impressive; and Frimley should be extremely proud of the service. God bless the NHS!
"Superb Weekend A&E Service"
