I was referred to good hope to have a scan after a private clinic suspected my pregnancy had failed. When doing a scan I was told that this was the case however due to legal reasons I had to wait 2 weeks for another scan before anything can be done. The lady who talked me through this was incredible and made me feel at ease. Shortly after my appointment I began misscarrying naturally at home which at first was painful and I lost a normal amount of blood.
A few days after that pain and bleeding had calmed down I began to experience excruciating pains that I could not cope with, so my boyfriend took me to A& E. I was taken straight in to majors and given some pain relief to help, shortly after I was moved in to the EPAU Ward. By this point I was bleeding abnormally which the nurses became concerned about and the pains were terrible, every single nurse especially Amy, Clara and doctor Madeeha treated me with such care and helped me through the whole process. At all points they talked through with me what was happening and answered all of my questions as to what was happening. I can’t praise doctor Madeeha enough who is a student nurse and was looking after the whole ward alone, she was so busy with many patients yet made me feel so at ease and had a lot of time to help me. I can’t praise the NHS enough! I was in hospital for over 30 hours and I was treated amazingly thank you so much!
"Amazing treatment from all the team at EPAU"
